NEWS RELEASE

Seeking Public's Assistance in Locating Bank Robber

R. Joe Clark, Special Agent in Charge of the Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Police Chief Sterling P. Owen IV of the Knoxville Police Department, are asking for the public's assistance locating the person wanted for the robbery of the BB&T Bank on April 19, 2006.

Carlton Wayne Wallace, white male born October 9, 1969, is wanted in connection to the robbery of the BB&T Bank located at 4611 Kingston Pike in Knoxville on April 19, 2006. Warrants are also on file charging Wallace with Parole Violation and Robbery. Wallace is believed to have been responsible for the robbery of a Weigel's store.

Anyone having any information concerning this robbery should call the FBI at (865) 544-0751 or the Knoxville Police Department's Hotline at 865/215-7212.

The public is cautioned not to approach this individual, but to immediately notify law enforcement of his whereabouts. The public is further reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
