NEWS RELEASESeeking Public's Assistance in Locating Carlton Wayne Wallace R. Joe Clark, Special Agent in Charge of the Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Police Chief Sterling P. Owen IV of the Knoxville Police Department, are asking for the public's assistance locating Carlton Wayne Wallace who robbed a Home Federal Bank today in Knoxville. At approximately 3:30 p.m., a man entered the Home Federal Bank at 4900 North Broadway in Knoxville. He handed a note demanding money to a teller. He left with an undetermined amount of money. Witnesses last saw the robber walking north through the parking lot away from the bank. The robber was described by witnesses as a white male, approximately 5'5" tall, average build, wearing a dark, possibly blue, ball cap, sunglasses, blue jeans, a gray t-shirt, and white tennis shoes. He had a dark goatee beard and mustache, and appeared to have dark hair cut very short on the back of his head. The robber has since been identified as Carlton Wayne Wallace who is already wanted for the robbery of the BB&T Bank at 4611 Kingston Pike on April 19, as well as for the robbery of a Weigel's store. Anyone having any information concerning this robbery should call the FBI at (865) 544-0751 or the Knoxville Police Department's Hotline at (865) 215-7212. The public is cautioned
not to approach this individual, but to immediately notify law enforcement
of his whereabouts. The public is further reminded that all defendants
are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
