NEWS RELEASE

R. Joe Clark, Special Agent in Charge of the Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Police Chief Sterling P. Owen IV of the Knoxville Police Department, are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the person who robbed the BB&T in Knoxville today.

The BB&T at 310 Merchants Drive, in Knoxville, Tennessee, was the victim of a bank robbery today. Witnesses report that at approximately 11:04 this morning, a white male, approximately 50 years old, 5'8" to 6'0" tall, medium build, with a gray mustache, who was wearing eyeglasses, a red/orange Nascar cap, a tan colored jacket with a dark collar, blue jeans, and who brandished a silver/gray semi-automatic pistol, approached a teller and demanded money. After taking an undetermined amount of money, the robber left. He was last seen by witnesses driving eastbound on Merchants drive in a silver, late 90's model Chevrolet Malibu with out-of-state tags, which included the letters and numbers "95K".

The public is cautioned not to approach this individual, but to immediately notify law enforcement of his whereabouts. The public is further reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
