NEWS RELEASE

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Police Chief Don Myers of the Sevierville Police Department, Police Chief Randall Brackins of the Gatlinburg Police Department, and Police Chief Jack Baldwin of the Pigeon Forge Police Department announce the arrest today of a man wanted for the September 28, 2007 robbery of the Sevier County Bank, Forks of the River Branch.

Russell Lee Finley, age 39 of Dayton, Ohio, was arrested without incident at the Traveler’s Inn Motel at 945 E. Parkway in Gatlinburg at 3:30 this afternoon. The investigation and arrest were the result of a joint effort by the above-named departments along with members of the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force which includes the Knoxville Police Department and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Finley will be afforded an initial appearance in front of a United States Magistrate in Knoxville tomorrow, October 3, 2007.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
