FBI, and KPD, search for man who robbed Citizens National Bank on Morrell Road today:

 

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief of Police Sterling P. Owen, IV of the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed a Knoxville bank today.

At 1:24 this afternoon, a man entered the Citizens National Bank inside the Food City store at 284 Morrell Road. He presented a note demanding money to a teller. The note also threatened a weapon. He placed an undetermined amount of money inside a blue folder or notebook he was carrying, and left the bank. He was last seen running behind the shopping center. Witnesses describe the robber as a white male, 20-30 years old, 5’9” tall, medium build, wearing a dark ball cap with electrical tape covering the emblem on the cap, sunglasses, a blue and white checked flannel shirt, and blue jeans. The robber is believed to be the same man who robbed the nearby BB&T on Northshore Drive on November 9 th of this year.

A reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865/544-0751, or the KPD at 865/215-7212. The public is reminded not to approach the individual, but to contact law enforcement.
