FBI and KPD Search for Man Who Robbed Citizens National Bank on Morrell Road Today:

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief of Police Sterling P. Owen, IV of the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the man who robbed a Knoxville bank earlier today.

At approximately 11:57 this morning, a man entered the Citizens National Bank located inside the Food City store located at 284 Morrell Road in Knoxville. He presented a note demanding money to a teller and then placed a dark- colored semiautomatic handgun on the counter.

Witnesses describe the robber as a white male, 20-30 years old, 5'9" tall, medium build, wearing a tan ball cap, sunglasses, and a blue buttondown shirt. The robber is believed to be the same man who robbed this bank on December 10th of this year, as well as a nearby BB&T on Northshore Drive on November 9th.

A reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865/544-0751 or the KPD at 865/215-7212. The public is reminded not to approach the individual, but to contact law enforcement.
