NEWS RELEASE

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that the man who robbed the First National Bank at 10514 Kingston pike, in Knoxville on January 19, 2007, is the suspect in five other bank robberies. The robberies have occurred in Knoxville, Kentucky, Ohio, and North Carolina.

The suspect, a white male, mid-50's, approximately 5'11" - 6'1", close to 180 pounds, typically enters the bank and presents a robbery note to a teller. He has been seen riding a bicycle in the area of the banks prior to the robberies. He makes his getaway either on foot or on a bicycle.

The following robberies have been linked to this suspect:

Huntington Bank, Columbus, Ohio, 11/21/2006

PNC Bank, Sharonville, Ohio, 12/01/2006

Bank of America, Charlotte, N.C., 1/11/2007

First National Bank, Knoxville, TN, 1/19/2007

Chase Bank, Louisville, Kentucky, 1/23/2007

First Citizens Bank, Huntersville, N.C., 2/15/2007

Anyone with information and/or the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Knoxville Division of the FBI at 865/544-0751, or their nearest law enforcement office. The public is cautioned not to approach this individual, but to immediately notify law enforcement of his whereabouts.

The public is reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
