NEWS RELEASE

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announces the arrest Monday night of Timothy Edward Handley.  Handley was wanted for the June 13th robbery of the Health Systems Credit Union at 4005 N. Broadway in Knoxville.
                       
Handley, age 32 of Knoxville, was stopped by the Dallas, Texas Police Department for a traffic offense at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday night.  He was subsequently arrested pursuant to a Bank Robbery warrant issued June 20, 2007 by the Eastern District of Tennessee.  Handley was provided an initial appearance before a United States Magistrate in Dallas on Tuesday.  He waived his rights to an identity hearing and an extradition hearing.  He was ordered detained pending his transfer back to Knoxville.

The public is reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
