FBI, KPD, and KCSO, as Part of the Safe Streets Task Force, are Searching for Man Who Robbed a Home Federal Bank

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief Sterling Owen IV of the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed a Knoxville bank today.

At approximately 12:45 this afternoon, the suspect entered the Home Federal Bank located at 4900 N. Broadway in Knoxville and presented a demand note and threatened to have an explosive device. Witnesses described the suspect as a black male, approximately 30 to 35 years of age, between 6’ and 6’2” tall, weighing approximately 230 to 250 pounds. The suspect was wearing blue jean shorts, a white, short-sleeve shirt, and a navy-blue visor. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect left the scene in a white, full-size pickup truck last seen heading north on Broadway.

A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KPD at 865-215-7212.

This matter is being investigated by the FBI SSTF and KPD Major Crimes Unit.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
