Maryville Woman Arrested on Bank Robbery Charges

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief Ken Burge of the Alcoa Police (APD) Department announce the arrest of Kathy S. Kirkland on bank robbery charges related to the robbery of the Regions Bank on 09/24/2009. Kirkland, age 52, of Maryville, Tennessee, was arrested on 09/29/2009, without incident, in Lenoir City by members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (which includes FBI, KPD, and KCSO personnel) and the APD. Kirkland is facing federal bank robbery charges. She is suspected of robbing the Regions Bank located at 216 S. Calderwood in Alcoa, Tennessee.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
