Seeking Information on Knoxville Bank Robber

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief Sterling P. Owen, IV of the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed a Knoxville bank this afternoon.

At approximately 3:05 this afternoon, a man entered the BB&T Bank located at 4931 Kingston Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee. After making a verbal demand for money, the suspect obtained an undetermined amount of money and fled the scene on foot. 

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male in his late 30s to early 40s, between 6’ and 6’4” tall, and weighing between 285 and 325 pounds. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a dark blue, zipped hooded jacket, and a black mask made of thin, silk-like material.

This matter is being investigated by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (which consists of personnel from the FBI, KPD, and KCSO) and the KPD Major Crimes Unit. 

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
