Man Who Robbed a First Tennessee Bank

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Sheriff Jimmy "J.J." Jones of the Knox County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the man who robbed a Knoxville bank today.

At approximately 12:18 this afternoon, a man entered the First Tennessee Bank located at 7501 Tazwell Pike in Knoxville, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, mid 40s to mid 50s, medium build, between 5'10" and 6' tall. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a blue jean jacket, and large over-sized prescription glasses. Suspect had a goatee and a light colored hat with "Owens Corning" on the front. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect left the scene in a white, Dodge 1500 or 2500 Series, pickup truck.

A reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KCSO at 865-215-2243. This matter is being investigated by the FBI SSTF and KCSO Major Crimes Unit.
